In my re-design of the Japanese Program website, I was asked to make some sort of icon to be represent the department. The Japanese professors expressed an interest to me about using warm, summer-like colors and gave me an example of those colors from which to get inspiration. I decided to use a fan as the icon to parallel the summer-like tones used in the website.
